The Boston Celtics have taken an early lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, defeating the Indiana Pacers 133-128 in Game 1 on Wednesday night. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 36 points, while Jaylen Brown added 33 points, including a clutch three-pointer to force overtime.
The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton's 24 points, but the injury-plagued team was unable to keep up with the Celtics' scoring. The Celtics hit 20 three-pointers in the game, including nine from Brown.
The Celtics will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series when they host Game 2 on Friday night.
