England v Scotland T20 World Cup Match Halted by Rain

England's Opening Game in 2024 Tournament Interrupted

The opening game of the 2024 T20 World Cup between England and Scotland has been halted due to heavy rain. The match, which was being played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, was stopped after just 12.2 overs of the first innings.

England Made a Solid Start

England had made a solid start to their innings, with openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler putting on a 50-run partnership before Buttler was dismissed for 29. Roy went on to make 38 before he was also dismissed, but England were well-placed at 87/2 when the rain arrived.

Scotland Hopeful of Rain Abating

Scotland, who are making their first appearance in the T20 World Cup, will be hoping that the rain abates and the match can be resumed. They will need to score 88 runs from the remaining 7.4 overs to secure a victory.

Further Updates Expected

Further updates on the match will be provided as they become available. If the match cannot be resumed, the result will be decided by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.
