Hunter Greene Returns to Reds Rotation

After Missing Two Months with Hip Injury, Pitcher Set to Start on Sunday

Cincinnati Eager to Get Greene Back on Mound as They Push for Playoff Berth

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene is set to return to the mound on Sunday after missing two months with a right hip injury. The Reds activated Greene from the 60-day injured list on Saturday, and he is expected to start against the Milwaukee Brewers at Great American Ball Park.

Greene, a 23-year-old right-hander, was one of the Reds' top prospects before making his MLB debut in April. He has a 5-8 record with a 4.44 ERA in 16 starts this season, but he has shown flashes of brilliance, including striking out 10 batters in six innings against the Chicago Cubs on May 28.

The Reds have struggled in Greene's absence, going 34-40 and falling out of contention for the National League Central Division title. However, they remain in the hunt for a wild-card berth, and Greene's return could be a major boost to their playoff hopes.

"He's a big part of our team, and we're excited to get him back," Reds manager David Bell said. "He's a young player with a lot of potential, and we think he can be a key contributor down the stretch."

Greene said he is looking forward to getting back on the mound and helping the Reds make a playoff push.

"I'm feeling good and I'm ready to go," Greene said. "I'm excited to get back out there and help the team win."
