Kamala Harris: Vice President of the United States

Early Life and Career

Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964 in Oakland, California. She graduated from the Howard University School of Law and began her legal career as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County. Harris later served as district attorney of San Francisco from 2003 to 2011.

Political Career

In 2010, Harris was elected as the first African American woman to serve as the Attorney General of California. She held this position until 2017, when she was elected to the United States Senate. In 2020, Harris was selected as Joe Biden's running mate in the presidential election. The pair went on to win the election, and Harris was inaugurated as Vice President of the United States in 2021.

Vice Presidency

As Vice President, Harris has been a vocal advocate for social justice and equality. She has focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and immigration reform. Harris has also been an outspoken critic of police brutality and racial discrimination.

Presidential Aspirations

In 2023, Harris announced her intention to run for President of the United States in 2024. She is currently a leading candidate in the Democratic primary.
