Techniques and Principles

Mixology involves a combination of art and science, with bartenders using their creativity and knowledge of ingredients to create unique and flavorful beverages. Some of the fundamental techniques used in mixology include:

  • Stirring: Used to combine ingredients without adding air or dilution, resulting in a well-balanced and smooth drink.
  • Shaking: Creates a frothy and aerated cocktail, incorporating air and chilling the drink quickly.
  • Blending: Used to combine ingredients that would otherwise not blend together, such as fruits, ice, and juices, resulting in smooth and flavorful concoctions.
